An Item Bank is a repository of test questions (Items) and any information pertaining to those items. In the education industry, these Items are typically defined by subject (e.g., Math, Biology) and, in other situations, are often defined by a credentialing, assessment program or job family (e.g. Entry Level Certification, Advanced Certification).
Authoring items is most often the first step in test development. Items reside in item banks, so you have to create item banks before you can create items. For example, just like on your PC, you create a folder and then put files in the folder.
To add a new Item Bank select Add Item Bank
Users can be assigned rights to view and edit specific item while Administrator (admin) users will have access to all banks.
For example, Biology teachers can be limited to the Biology Item Bank.
Note: A user can search all item banks by tag. Select the Tag required on the left hand side of the screen and click on Apply. All item banks that have items that match the tag selected will be displayed.
