Multiple Hurdle Test

Multiple Hurdle testing, sometimes known as Multiple Cutoff testing or Sequential Cutoff testing.

Setup in Assess.ai is done in the Tests Module and requires multiple test sections with cut scores per section.

Test Setup

Setup the Multiple Hurdle Test with as many sections as are needed.

In the example above there are 3 Sections (hurdles).

Items are allocated to each of the sections

Multiple Hurdle Scoring

The scoring parameters are setup on the Scoring Tab of the test.

Select : Pass/Fail cutscore based on multiple hurdles (raw cutscore for each section)

There are 2 scoring options:

Deliver all sections of the test to every examinee: this will deliver all sections of the test regardless of the scores achieved in each section.

Do not deliver later sections if examinee fails an early Hurdle section: test delivery will stop if the candidate does not achieve the specified cutscore criteria in any of the sections (excluding the final section).

Setup the Cutscore criteria for each section:

Select : Pass/Fail cutscore based on multiple hurdles (raw cutscore for each section)

Including "non hurdle" sections within the test

Hurdle tests can include sections that are not treated as hurdles.  To include these section set the Cutscore to 0 (zero).
