After you have finished assembling a test, click on the Lock Test button in the upper right, which indicates that your test is ready to be used and prevents you or other users from modifying it any further. If a test is delivered to examinees and then someone later deletes items, the data will be corrupted and incomplete.
When a test is locked, you will see a new warning message, as well as two new buttons (Unlock Test) next to the Lock Test button.
After Locking: Delivering a Test Online
If you plan to deliver the test online, there is nothing else you need to do in the Test module. Proceed to the Sessions module to set delivery parameters (e.g., date windows, assign examinees).
After Locking: Exporting a Test to HTML / Export Item Metadata
After locking a test, there is an option to Export Test to HTML and Export Item Metadata.
Export Test to HTML: exports all the test items into an HTML file, which is easily opened in Microsoft Word or other editors to prepare for printing.
Note: that this will only work for paper-friendly item types. You will not be able to fully export e.g. drag and drop or other interactive items.
Export Item Metadata: exports the item metadata in an Excel format.
