Locking the Session
When you have completed the process of creating/editing the options for your session, return to the session list and click on the ... (ellipsis) button to lock the session. This prevents you or anyone else from editing important aspects (e.g. changing the tests because that would corrupt the saved results).
Before locking a Session the following options are available
Edit | Edit the session |
Lock | Lock the session – sessions need to be locked before test delivery |
Duplicate | Duplicate the session |
Delete | Delete the Session – only undelivered sessions can be deleted |
After locking a Session the following options are available
Edit | Edit the session |
Unlock | Unlock the session – only undelivered sessions can be unlocked |
Archive | Archive the session once delivery is complete |
Duplicate | Duplicate the session |
Make Unavailable | This will prevent examinees from entering the session. |
Session View Dashboard
Once the session is locked, the View button on the right will be clickable. The Session View Dashboard is for administrative and reporting purposes.
There are 2 tabs on the Session View Dashboard: Examinee Results and Remaining Time

The remaining time tab will indicate the time available on the Session and Test.
Navigating the Session Dashboard
Email Codes (All) - Select Email Codes (All) to email the test codes to all the candidates.
The email template is designed in the Session Access Tab of the Session Builder.
Note: to email to a selection of candidates; select the candidates by checking the check box to the right of the candidate record and select Email Codes (#)
Rescore (All) to rescore the test. The rescore function is used if any edits have been made to the test in this session or after an Essay Item has been marked in the Marking Module.
Note: To Rescore for a selection of candidates; select the candidates by checking the check box to the right of the candidate record and select Rescore (#)
Refresh Session to update the Status of the examinees. The process can take some time to complete depending on the number of examinees in the session.
Reports
Click on Export for a list of available reports:
- Score / Metadata - for summary information (Date, time taking, score, test codes, etc.)
- Raw Response Matrix - to obtain the full matrix of response data for analysis in psychometric software.
- Scored Response Matrix - to obtain the scores per item.
- Item Time Matrix - for time per item (time is indicated in seconds)
- Item-by-Item Report - includes Item delivery sequence and time per Item.
5. Highlight and copy the examinee test code to your PC clipboard from this screen. The latter is useful if you signed yourself up to take the session for quality assurance; you can then go to the root of your sub domain (e.g., myorg.assess.ai) and enter the code to take the session.
Navigating the Session Dashboard with Email Confirmations
When using the Email Confirmation option the Session View Dashboard will include the Email Confirmations Button.

Session Statistics
1. The Session Summary Statistics display the following information:
- Test Name
- Number of Candidates Registered in the Session
- Number of Candidates Completed the Session
- Score Mean
- Score SD (Standard deviation)
- Percentage of Candidates that have achieved a Pass result
2. The Graph displays the summary of Candidate statuses in the Session.
3. Completions indicates the number of Candidates that have completed the Session. This information is displayed by Week or by Month.
Actions: per examinee when status = In-Progress or Not Started
Click of the Actions ellipsis next to the Examinee you wish to query.
The following actions are available:
Live Progress -

- Note: this option is only available while the Examinee Session is In Progress The screen indicates where the Examinee is in the Test as well as the current item number the examinee is on.
- Click on Actions for the following functions:
- Pause the Examinees Test
- Resume the Examinees Test
Add Extra Time
This option allows the user to add extra time to a candidate.
Enter the Extra Time allocation in minutes.
Unregister an Examinee
This will remove an Examinee from the test session.
Re-Open Session
This will re-open a test session for an Examinee.
Note: this option could be used if an Examinee exits a test session prematurely or has connectivity problems and is unable to complete the test.
Submit Session:
This will submit the session for a candidate that has a status of In Progress.
Note: the following message will display before submitting the session:
Actions: per examinee when status = Completed
There are 3 statuses for a Session Status = Complete:
- Completed by Examinee - the Examinee selected Submit
- Completed by Administrator - the Session was submitted using the Submit Option on the View Dashboard
- Completed by timed out status job - the Session is marked as force complete
The completed status is visible on the Examinee Session Report and the Scored/Metadata report.

Click on Export to PDF for a PDF copy of the Examinee Session Report
Test Audit Report
This is a report of candidate keystrokes and actions during the test. This report will be used to interrogate an examinees test.

Unregister an Examinee
This will remove an Examinee from the test session.
Re-Open Session
This will re-open a test session for an Examinee. Note: this option could be used if an Examinee exits a test session prematurely or has connectivity problems and is unable to complete the test.
NOTE: Copy (Control +C) and Paste (Control +V) are disabled during Exam Delivery.
